Make your website an active website

Broadly speaking, there are two types of website on the internet today - information sites and business sites. Information sites have no profitable agenda and simply sit there displaying information for those who wish to view it. Business sites however are the opposite. They exist purely to generate business, either by selling a product or service directly online or by encouraging the visitor to contact them.

So what is an active website? Well imagine a visitor to your website has just finished reading to the bottom of a page. They are now presented with a choice - to take action (i.e. reading another page, buying a product etc) or, to leave and visit someone else’s website. An active website is a website designed to encourage that visitor to take action. If your website doesn’t achieve this, you have to ask yourself - is it really doing its job?
